Alfred Gockel
Alfred Alexander Gockel is a German abstract painter who was born in 1952 in a small coal mining town in Germany. His first painting was published when he was only eight years old. When he turned 16, he began to work in the local coal mines until the industry declined. Perhaps his days in the coal mines explain why his paintings are filled with bright, vivid colors outlined in black.
The fluid lines and rich hues of Gockel's work make his prints among the most sought-after in the world. Some of his most popular works include "Moved by the Music V," "Poppies," and "Dream."
