Vintage Advertising
"Vintage" can be defined in number of waysâ??some good, some not so good. But when it's applied to advertising, images flood the mind and make us recall our collective pastâ??the days of trolley cars, World War II, King Kong, and MGM Studios.
Vintage advertising was never confined to the US. French, German and British posters hawk their nations' wines, tourist attractions and cultures. Vintage advertising posters are highly sought after and remain among the most popular and the most collectible prints, here at home and around the world.
Bob Dylan
Robert Allen Zimmerman was born May 24, 1941, in Duluth, Minnesota, where he grew up listening to music on the radio. After he entered college at the University of Minnesota, he fell in love with folk music, traded in his electric guitar for the acoustic variety, and began performing under the name of Bob Dylan.
Early on, Dylan became involved in social activism, writing his music to underscore his point and his passion. His most famous song, Blowin' in the Wind, became a worldwide hit for Peter, Paul and Mary in the 1960s. Today, he continues to tour, write and sing, releasing a new album in July 2008: Tell Tale Signs: Rare And Unreleased 1989-2006.
