Johnny Cash

Johnny Cash (1932-2003) was a legendary singer and songwriter whose styles ranged from country music to rockabilly ballads to blues, gospel and rock and roll. and colorful life made him an icon across the nation. Nicknamed "The Man in Black" (because he always wore dark clothing), he traditionally introduced himself at concerts with "Hello. I'm Johnny Cash." His clothing may have been drab, but outlaw image was a colorful one. He never landed in prison, but he was jailed seven times for misdemeanors. During his amazing fifty-year career, Cash sold more than 90 million albums.
