Claude Monet is considered to be the father of the Impressionism movement, which was named after one of his paintings, "Impression, Sunrise." Impressionistic painters used visible brush strokes and ever changing light and perspectives. In the middles and late 1800s, impressionism was the rage and many well known artists were part of this movement, including Cezanne, Renoir, and Manet.
