Bear with us here. Teddy bears were born back around 1902 when President Teddy Roosevelt showed compassion for a wounded bear. Thus, "Teddy's Bear" was born, and it was soon followed by Smokey the Bear, the Three Bears, Paddington Bear, Stuffington Bear, the Steiff bear, Build-a-Bear Workshops and more. There are still enough real bears in the US to pose a danger to humans. But, for the most part, America is in love with its bears. Bear posters are abundant (and adorable) and there's a style and color for children and adults of all ages.
